CHARACTER INFORMATION; NAME: Noel Kreiss CANON: Final Fantasy XIII-2 AGE: 18 OCCUPATION: First year university student, construction worker around Mysidia RESIDENCE: Mysidia
PERSONALITY: Noel is a very chivalrous person. He believes strongly in protecting loved ones, standing up for the things you believe in and never giving up on people. It’s these traits that often make him headstrong in his decisions. He’s empathetic, kind, and logical. He would rather think things through rationally and calmly before making any important leaps.
He is very good at hiding his weaker emotions and would rather put them aside instead of confronting them. Noel is a loyal person and dislikes to betray trust. He often comes off as a cocky and confident but he is actually rather soft-spoken and even sometimes has a hard time expressing himself. He values all forms of life and believes in never taking life for granted.
Sometimes, Noel has issues with remembering important things such as dates, memories and special occasions. It’s not that he doesn’t want to remember or that he’s completely irresponsible, it is just something that has always happened to him since he was a child. Because of this he comes off as forgetful but it is never intended.
BIOGRAPHY: Noel wasn’t always alone. When he was a child he was raised by his father. He grew up in a small cottage in Mysidia with the simple necessities of life. He was a quiet child and never caused much trouble. Noel grew up with two other friends, a boy a few years older than him, and a younger girl. They were always together and things were simple then.
When his father died Noel felt like his world was disappearing. Mysidia felt empty after his father passed. Even his friends seemed to vanish. Some days, it felt like he was the only one left in the entire world.
But that was ok because the future was something he looked forward to. The past was too complicated to even think about. If he could, he would change it all. He would change his father’s fate and meet his mother. He would follow his friends as well.
Following high school, Noel went straight into university. He always had a knack for science and biology and as a teenager he would always be drawing fictitious monsters on the pages of his books. He wasn’t sure exactly how a degree in zoology would fit into his life after university, but he figured it would be a good start and at least it got him into the city more often. Besides, he was sure he wasn’t the only university student who didn’t know what they really wanted.
Presently, Noel still lives in the old cottage he was raised in and takes the train to Balamb University early every morning to meet his classes. He works odd constructions jobs around Mysidia and is found often at the docks trying to teach himself how to fish.
Noel often reminisces to himself about his past. Although never talking about it, it is always on his mind. He is always searching for her… and him.
THREE NOTES: 1. Noel is ambidextrous and frequently switches hands while writing. 2. Noel loves track and field and often participates in javelin throwing and excels greatly at it. 3. He loves dinosaurs.
WRITING INFORMATION: JOURNAL ENTRY SAMPLE: I got lost on campus today after trying to find the office of the registrar. Balamb University sure is huge, it feels like a maze. There are so many people wandering everywhere and everyone looks so happy though.
I’m wondering what it costs for a dorm room here. My house is so far away I think it might be easier to just get a place here downtown or on campus. If I had some extra money maybe I could afford it.
Anyone know any good places hiring?
THIRD PERSON SAMPLE: Noel felt a little dizzy as he walked down the busy halls of Balamb University. This place was unbelievable! There were so many people walking back and forth and the loud hum of people talking all around him left him feeling a little light headed. He wasn’t used to being around so many people.
He was really looking forward to all this and being around crowds of people always made him feel great. He loved meeting new people and seeing new things. Going to university was going to be the best thing that has ever happened to him, and he knew it. It was a lot better than sitting home alone with no one to talk to.
But Noel came to a slow stop and looked over his shoulder. Had he passed that pop machine once before on this trek? Had he seen those tables before? Confused, he looked overhead at the signs and tried to get his senses straight. All the halls looked the same and none of the signs made any sense.
Turning around, and around again, Noel started to feel a little hopeless and stupid. He tapped the shoulder of a random girl walking down the hall and asked, “Excuse me, do you know how to get to the office of the registrar?”
